Her er række billeder:

New austrian Landwehr 1809

So here is my newest units: Three austrian landwehr from 1809 in a nice ¨kaffeebraun¨ coats and sparkling blue trousers.
I think they look nice and shiny.

The coat color is not red but brown. In the colors shown they look like danes from 1848.

New artillery

I have just finished 6 pieces of Austrian artillery and 10 French.
The austrians are Perry's. Excellent figures with a lot of life. They could easily be a part of a Diorama, and are a mini diorama on their bases.
The limbers with crew and horses ar small pieces of art. Especially their horseartillery, "wurstwagen" are splendid.
They are not finished unfortunately.
My french artillery are victrix, and they are excellent figures. Unfortunately in 1809 french artillery used chakots, but i like bicorne better, so here they are.
Soon i will be able to have a big battle.

My french napoleonic army.

I am painting a french and an austrian army for the battles from about1798 to 1809. I know for the purist that the uniforms changed during the period. But since it is my army and i am painting it, i have decided i can live with that.
They are 28mm. And fun to paint. I like the revolutionary battles and i like the war of 1809. And i am not going to paint two armies  af each.
They ar more fun tp paint for my old eyes, than 15 mm. And affordable since most of it can be boutgh in plastic. Just like the old days of minifigs and airfix..
 Here are the french infantry:
21  line battallions of 4 bases of 4 figures. Perfect for the piquet series of rules and for my own rules. And Since the french are in 6 companies. There is a company colour pompom on the four figureson a base, so that you can put 6 bases of a different colour if you wish. I just like the variety in colours, so call me a barbarian.

Here they are in a bit brownish picture.

There are also thre battalions of ligth infantry in 1798 uniform.
And waiting to be painted are 10 pieces of artillery with crew.
Perhaps tomorrow i will try to line up my austrians.
So if anybody wants a battle. The terrain, figures and rules are nearly ready.
Wagram anyone?

World war One guns

In the Tøjhusmuseum, the danish army museum, in Copenhagen, there is a nice collection of guns, mainly danish, but also foreign.
There are two world war one guns: the German 77 mm and the french 75 mm. Both very famous guns, and as far as i can judge, in their original colours.
The french gun is in the early war colour, but the german 77 is in late war camouflage, which is not that common in museums.
